Your Pet's Story or Bio (How was your pet rescued? Any cute tricks?)
His family surrendered him to the shelter in June 2014. His name was Simba (hence the "Sims"); he had 7 teeth (all but two rotten) and major hair loss; and he was in the sick area and scheduled to die quite soon to make room for incoming dogs over 4th of July weekend. Through the amazing Elaine Seamens and Robin Harmon, I sponsored him, fostered him, and found I couldn't live without him (uh oh! Foster failure!). He now lives with my husband (who calls him "the pixie"), me, and two senior rescue siblings, and he is one of the most loving and joyful beings I've ever had the pleasure to know -- despite all the pain and discomfort he'd lived with and the loss of his family. He's my sweet-surprise, two-tooth baby, and I hope he lives another 10 years -- at least!!
