Your Pet's Story or Bio (How was your pet rescued? Any cute tricks?)
Two weeks ago, while I was rescuing sweet Ellie, I stood with 9 year old Niko's dad in the Carson Shelter parking lot pleading for him to come up with alternative options other than to relinquish him and his sister. I warned him that to surrender Niko & Cleo was a death sentence. He took the time to call home, sat in the car and reconsidered…then I saw him march them two in. My heart sank. He gave me the guilty eyes as I watched, and then he came over to me and I repeated, "It's a death sentence." His response, "I know, it sucks." He claimed they were building a pool, they had a newborn baby, and they just had too much going on.

We went on a mission to find a Family for Niko, and on July 20th, 2014 we rescued him! We worked closely with Pickle Pants Rescue to ensure that Niko's sister, Cleo, got rescued too. Niko arrived to us itchy, but in otherwise great health! He got neutered and his teeth cleaned, and he is now living with his loving family, Bethany Moore, Darryl Burce, and Leon.
