Socks the Library Cat is the resident mascot & ambassador for Pinson Public Library in Pinson, Alabama! Socks is 8 years old & has lived at the library since he was about 5 months old.

Socks & his siblings were found abandoned on the side of the road. Pinson City Councilman Roberts & his family took the kittens in & cared for them. They immediately knew that Socks was special because he was very outgoing & loved to be around people!

Socks's birthday is August 10th, so he is celebrated each year with a birthday party at the library. He's very well-read, an expert cuddler, a treat fiend, & a joyful presence in the library for staff & patrons.

Socks was voted Birmingham's Coolest Cat 2020!
