Alister (aka Ali-cat) has been with me for nearly ten years, since I adopted him from a shelter in Smyrna. He's a big boy (16 lbs) with an even bigger personality (sometimes described as "spicy"). More than anything, though, Alister is deeply sentient, a source of intense joy (or exasperation -- when he dashes out overnight), and my very sweetest companion.
