The Atlanta Humane Society’s annual Cutest Pet Contest is back, and this year, your pets are headed to the top of the class as they compete for Senior Superlatives! Your pet could be crowned: Class Clown, Most Talented, Best Dressed, Cutest Couple, Most Likely to Be Napping in Class, or Best Hair.
Enter one or enter them all! There’s no limit to how many categories your pet can shine in.
And this year, there are even more chances to win. In addition to the first-place winners in each category, we’ll be awarding prizes for the most overall votes, runners-up, top five, and top ten in each category.
Win your Superlative category and your pet will earn top honors with a professional photoshoot and a feature on custom Atlanta Humane Society merchandise. Other prizes include tickets to our extra-adorable Puppy Yoga class, a featured “Principal’s Pick” spotlight on our website, and more!

Prizes
This year we will have multiple categories for entry! The Cutest Pet Contest is yearbook themed with Senior Superlative entry categories: Class Clown, Most Talented, Best Dressed, Cutest Couple, Most Likely to be Napping in Class, and Best Hair.
🏅 Most Votes Overall – "Principal for a Day":
The pet with the most total votes across all categories will be crowned Principal for a Day—complete with an official certificate! They'll also be featured as the "Principal's Pick" across all Atlanta Humane Society digital platforms, along with a special spotlight on the AHS program of their choice. Plus, they'll receive all of the below prizes too!
📸 First Place in Each Superlative Category:
The pet with the most votes in each category will receive a professional pet photoshoot, digital images, see their pet featured on custom Atlanta Humane Society merchandise, and receive $100 towards our online shop to purchase the merch! Winners will also be featured in a blog article on our website, celebrating their Superlative status!
🎟 Runner-Up in Each Superlative Category:
Runner-up pets in each category will be featured in our AHS blog article alongside the winners, and receive two tickets to our Puppy Yoga class—a chance to relax, stretch, and enjoy some puppy love!
🎁 Top 5 in Each Category:
Our top five in each Superlative category will receive a special Atlanta Humane Society prize mailed right to their doorstep.
📣 Top 10 in Each Category:
The top ten pets in each category will have their original photo featured on a banner displayed at our Atlanta campus throughout the month of August.
Contest Entry:
- To submit your pet’s photo, a minimum $25 donation is required. This amount will enter you into the contest. The entry fee will be included in the overall funds donated to your campaign. *Enter your pet by Sunday, May 18th for a discounted entry fee of $19
- Once entered, all photos become the property of the Atlanta Humane Society and can be used, edited, or modified for print or marketing purposes.
- Any photo or caption deemed inappropriate as determined by the staff of the Atlanta Humane Society will be removed from the photo contest.
Photo Requirements:
- All entries must be in color.
- If your entry was taken by a commercial studio, please include a signed copyright release from the photographer with your entry.
- Dogs and cats not wearing collars or ID tags may be ruled ineligible for calendar placement.
- Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from AHS to be eligible to enter this contest.
- All photos must be submitted by the photographer who took the photo. Photos with copyrights must receive the express consent of the owner of the copyright for usage rights in the AHS pet photo contest.
- If photos include pets not owned by the person entering the photo, the entrant must receive written permission from the pet’s owner for usage in the contest.
Contest Voting:
- Each dollar donated to a pet’s campaign represents one vote
- Due to processing costs, a minimum $5 donation is required
- All donations are tax-deductible by law
- All donations to the photo contest are final
- All votes must be applied to selected photos by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted
- An email address is required to make an online donation so a receipt with tax information can be sent to the donor. If you would not like to receive AHS news and solicitations via email in the future, there is a checkbox that you can un-check at the time of your donation.
Contest Deadlines & Winners:
- The top entries at 10:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, June 20, 2025 will receive prizes. Please see the prize section for additional details.
- Online entries and votes must be submitted before 10:00:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, June 20, 2025.
- Contest winners will need to re-submit their photo to Atlanta Humane Society as a high resolution, print quality image. Winners will be notified where to send photos.
