2024 Cutest Critter Photo Contest

We need your support and this is a fun way to advertise us to all your friends and family and win prizes in the process!  As shelters discontinue spay/neuter and immunization services, Paws in Prison must now absorb these additional veterinary expenses, and as you probably know from your own critters, veterinary expenses and food costs are continually rising.  The "no kill" shelters are full and rural shelters still euthanize! Our goal is to get dogs rescued from these rural kill shelters, trained, then adopted so we can rescue more dogs and give our amazing trainers in the Paws in Prison program more training experiences.  Won't you help us by entering a photo into the contest or voting on the contest cutest critters?

So start snapping those photos and entering your Cutest Critter! You can enter your Cutest Critter photo beginning Sunday, September 1, 2024 to start promoting your photo to your friends and families.  Your critter can be any pet, living or who crossed the rainbow bridge, who has stolen your heart, not just dogs. You will have the entire month of September to not only enter the contest, but also to get everyone you know to vote for your Cutest Critter.  Each vote translates to a $1 donation to Friends of Paws in Prison, and folks can vote as often and for as many critters as they wish.  For example, 50 votes requires a $50 donation.

The Top 12 Winners Win A Cutest Critter
2025 Calendar

The top 12 photos with the most votes will receive a  2025 Friends of Paws in Prison Cutest Critter Calendar with each month represented by one of the top 12 Cutest Critter photo winners. These calendars will subsequently be available on our website merchandise page for approximately $25 each after the end of the contest.

Check out the ongoing leaderboard to see who is ahead during the voting period. An ongoing count keeps the competition to win going!  Keep in mind this is a fundraiser for an amazing nonprofit that saves the lives of shelter dogs and rehabilitates incarcerated women.

Donations made to Friends of Paws in Prison are tax-deductible as allowed by law as we are a 501(c)3 organization.
About
Friends of Paws in Prison is the 501(c)3 nonprofit set up to support the Paws in Prison program located in the Coleman Unit, an all women's prison located in Lockhart, Texas. Through the Paws in Prison program, the inmates learn to train and care for dogs rescued from rural kill shelters, who are then available for adoption in "furever" families.

This amazing program works with a 6-way mission to:

  • Rehabilitate Female Prisoners
  • Save Shelter Dogs from Euthanasia
  • Train a dog with basic obedience skills for Adoption into Loving Families
  • Provide Communities with Productive Members of Society with Employment Skills in the Animal Welfare Industry
  • Train service dogs at no charge to our military veterans to receive a caring canine companion
  • Provide educational scholarships to inmates to further their animal welfare training
Your votes in the Cutest Critter Photo Contest support this unique nonprofit, creating a ripple effect that is saving more than dogs!  Learn more about us at www.PawsInPrisontx.org

Rules
  1. The contest entry fee is $5 per submitted photo. Each contestant may enter 1 photo of any pet.
  2. Photos must contain any household pet (does not have to be a Paws in Prison dog and does not have to be a living pet). People can be in the photo, as long as a pet is also in the photo.
  3. Each photo vote requires a $1 donation, but there is no limit to the number of votes for the same photo; for example, $25 buys 25 votes. Voters can vote for as many photos as they want and as often as they want from September 1 - 30.
  4. Voting continues throughout the contest period beginning 12:00:00 AM (Central Time) on Sunday, September 1, 2024 and ending on 11:59:59 PM (Central Time) on Monday, September 30, 2024. The same person can vote as many times as desired on the same photo or any other photos. There is a real-time, ongoing count of the current winning photos.
  5. In case of a tie at the conclusion of the contest, there will be a drawing by a FoPiP board member.
  6. Board and staff members of Friends of Paws in Prison may enter one photo each for the purpose of promoting the contest to their friends and family, but they may not receive any of the award prizes.
  7. All photos become the property of Friends of Paws in Prison and can be used for our promotional purposes, such as our newsletters and our website.
  8. Winners of the prizes are determined by the number of votes received (not by the number of people voting) for each photo.
  9. All entry fees and votes translate to donations to Friends of Paws in Prison, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, hence your donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
  10. No previous donations to the nonprofit can be applied to the contest - all donations must go through the GoGo Photo Contest website.
