Submit a picture of your horse, donkey, mule, or mini to Habitat for Horses doing what they do best: running, playing, enjoying their pasture pals, or being your best friend. Enjoy yourself, and remember these handy horse photography tips:
- Always groom your horse first!
- Watch your background! Poop piles, old trucks piles of trash are not what we want to see.
- Keep the sun at your back. A dark horse under the shade of a tree makes too many shadows and black areas.
- Keep the horizon either high or low. Don’t let it split the picture in two.

Entering the contest is free. Each vote thereafter will be $1. Each $1 donation counts as a vote for that photo. The photo with the most votes who has complied with the contest rules will be the winner. The Habitat for Horses Spring 2014 Photo Contest begins March 1st and ends at Midnight Central Standard Time on April 15th, 2014. The winner will be announced within 5 business days of the end of the contest.
