Your Pet's Story or Bio
Maisie (formerly known as Leady) came to us from the York SPCA in November 2020. We believe that she had a sad little life before we brought her home. She had never been in a home, had never seen steps before, and didn't even know how to chase a ball. She was so scared she didn't want to eat for a couple days. But her siblings, Lucy the Labradoodle and Pearl the Tuxedo cat loved her right away. Pearl patiently allowed Maisie to chase and kiss her and Lucy helped her to learn how to be a perfect pet. After a few weeks she knew that she was home and became a happy little pup.
Sadly, one day about a year later Maisie became terribly sick and had to be hospitalized. She had gotten leptospirosis from one of our neighborhood critters. It was a scary week in the hospital but she survived, although it damaged her kidneys and she must be on a special kidney diet for the rest of her life.
Maisie and Lucy are inseparable BFFs and she loves any dog or human who comes to visit, but her favorite activity is going to Wet Nose Wednesdays at the Harrisburg Senators Baseball games where she can meet all kinds of new doggie friends and watch people chase balls. Once she was even pictured on the giant scoreboard.
Maisie was the perfect addition to our family and we couldn't imagine being without her.
