Pet's Story or Bio
Pretzel was surrendered to the Racine Campus on April 17th, 2021. She had never been groomed and had damage to her front legs due to being severely matted and the mats had cut into her front legs. They considered amputating one, but decided to try casting & antibiotics first to see if it could heal on its own. She stayed at the Racine campus until May 17th when it was decided that she needed more exercise to see if her legs would ever be normal, so she was released for Foster Care. Pretzel was EXTREMELY fearful and withdrawn, and we were so worried she may never trust anyone. We were a "Foster Fail" on July 4th, when she found her "Furever Home" with us. She has come so far! She runs all over the backyard, chasing her sister, Gizmo. She can jump off the couch (her favorite spot to sleep during the day!). She is the most adorable, loving dog, that is no longer fearful of anyone who comes to visit! She still loves to snuggle her head in your neck and be carried upright like a baby. She will have lifelong orthopedic issues, but she is loved more than words can say! We hope to make all of her future memories happy ones!
