Pet's Story
Hi!
I’m Timbit, the grey one, and this is my husbun Bean! We are four years old and live free roam in our home! That means we run around a home just like a cat or dog would. A lot of people don’t know that bunnies don’t live in cages! That’s why we rescued Bean a few years ago.
I was a single bunny living with my mom, Kailey, when she realized I might be happier with a husbun. She started looking at rescues for a friend and we found flyers for someone giving away a bunny. Mom went to meet him and found him living in a wire-bottom cage with only lettuce to eat. Mom immediately fell in love with him and took him home.
Bean and I fell in love and the rest is history! We’ve never ever fought (although he gets all up in my space sometimes) and we even have a friend we hang out with sometimes! We get all the best fresh herbs and unlimited hay! It’s the life!
Unfortunately, Bean was diagnosed with pododermatitis a month ago which basically means his feet have sores on them. Now he wears little boots (that I make fun of him for) and requires daily medication. All from living in a wire bottom cage!
Now Bean, my mom, and I try to educate people on how to take care of bunnies and why we may be harder than a dog or a cat. I’m lucky Bean and I ended up where we are. Most bunnies don’t even make it for 5 years old and we are turning 5 this year!
