Established in 1978, Colonial Capital Humane Society (CCHS) is the only no-kill shelter in Craven County. They are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for abandoned, abused, and neglected animals while they wait for their forever homes. They also promote awareness and education on the importance of spay and neuter to control pet populations. CCHS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer and donation driven organization. They do not receive government funding assistance and rely on memberships, donations, fundraisers, and their flea market income to fund their operations.
