Diane is lucky to be alive. She and her brother, Jack, were seized from a cruelty case after a long investigation by the authorities. They were found with no appropriate shelter, in the middle of winter, with nothing but bowls of ice. Their owner would leave them for days at a time with no food or water. They were morbidly obese, so much so that they could not open their eyes and were blind when they arrived. Diane had hooves so overgrown that it was hard to walk. She came to West Place for 'hospice care' but we put her on an exercise program, a skin conditioning program (she gets salt scrubs and coconut oil rubs) and a nutritional program. Now she can see and run and melt everyone's hearts. She is the Queen around here. Oh, and she likes to dig in dirt. A lot.
