Cody was the very first dog to come to West Place the very first day we started serving as the lost dog holding facility for the Tiverton Police Department. He was found at dawn, drowning in a lake and someone in a boat saw him take his last breath as he began to sink. He was grabbed just in time. Though he was clearly a dumped stray (he's got a wonky eye, a foot that turns outward, and is afraid of noise, so he disappointed some hunter), several people laid claim to him, offering falsified vet records. The police investigated for six weeks, and after that long with him in our kennel, he bonded to the person that would become his new 'momma' (that's me). A formerly abused dog is never perfect, but I wouldn't trade him for the world!
