Pet's Story
Bella came to us when she and my daughter were 2 years old. She was an absolutely beautiful Golden Retriever, with lots of energy and curiosity for everything! From the moment she came into our lives, she was a constant presence - sharing endless love and patience with everyone we introduced to her. She was especially gentle and watchful over the kids - all of them. Bella was my daughter's horse and best friend and my best fur baby buddy. We fostered dogs, whom she welcomed into the home and quickly taught the rules. Bella had knee surgery in spring 2014 at her favorite place - the Oregon coast. She recovered quickly, assuming her role as guard dog, kind friend, and by fall of 2014, step-mom for a little 6 lb chihuahua puppy from the Humane Society. She taught us about playing with all your body, trusting with your whole soul, and loving with your being. She was, as we called her, "the best dog ever!" We lost her to a untreatable and debilitating illness in fall 2016 but she is our inspiration everyday. Right up until the last breath, she lived for us. She lived to give us love and to receive all we had to give with open paws! Here she is being the horse to my daughter and her little sister before she got ill last fall. Here's to Bella!!! Best dog ever!!!
