Meet Ajax! Ajax was an owner surrender to Rochester Animal Services, and he came to the shelter at the time when we were looking to adopt a dog, a year and half after our shelter dog Arlo passed way at age 14. As a dog walker I got to know Ajax, and although we were looking for a 35-40 lb. female, I fell in love with this gentle 75-lb. giant with his affectionate nature, his excellent leash walking skills and his sweet personality. He came home in May 2024 and has been a wonderful part of our family ever since. He even gets along with our cats. He's a goofy, lazy guy who has to be coaxed off his bed for his morning walk and likes nothing more than a long winter's nap on our heated bathroom floor. We can count on Ajax to stay close to us and to always be ready for a belly rub.
