Why everyone should vote for my animal
If those inquisitive, pleading green eyes aren't enough to win you over, here's her back story:
While studying in Cairo, I was procrastinating an essay and saw this tiny abandoned kitten with a nasty mouth infection. My friend and I took her to the vet, and Bastet liked me more so she stayed with me and moved to the US! Now she lives the American dream, judging the neighbors from the window and playing with her toys.
And finally, if you've ever had a superstition about black cats, just know that Bastet has a white heart on her tummy, and in Arabic, to have a white heart means you have a good character. Aww!
