About Veterinarians Without Borders
Veterinarians Without Borders North America/Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Amerique du Nord (VWB/VSF) is a non-profit, charitable organization that focuses on animal health as a way to improve the health of communities. Put simply, we believe in healthy animals, healthy humans, and a healthy planet.
Our mission is to strengthen animal health and welfare to build more resilient communities. We do this by enhancing veterinary care, bolstering community disaster response and recovery, championing sustainable livelihoods, and improving the well-being of animals, humans, and ecosystems worldwide.
Globally, we focus on a few key issues, including controlling rabies, promoting gender equality, responding to disasters where animals are present, and training and educating community animal health workers in areas where there are no veterinarians. Throughout this, we always keep in mind the One Health perspective, where we consider animals, people and environment before making changes, because changing one thing, can change everything.
