Rules

Entries may be any pet. No humans allowed in photos. Volunteer Equine Advocates (VEA) board members may not enter the contest but may vote. Commercially-reproduced photographs by a professional photographer will not be accepted without proper releases. Any entrant submitting a photo from a commercially-reproduced photograph by a professional photographer, Volunteer Equine Advocates' Pets to the Rescue 2018 Calendar reserves the right not to use any entry if release agreements are not signed and submitted no later than September 30, 2017.

Resolution of the image may limit its ability to be used in calendar.


Each entrant must pay a minimum $10 entry fee per photo submission. If you pre-order a 2018 calendar in the entry process you will receive 5 free votes on your entry. You must pre-order your calendar(s) in the entry process to receive 5 free votes. If you enter the contest and pre-order your calendars from the standalone 2018 calendar pre-order page, you will not receive 5 free votes. Submissions will be accepted on-line only from August 1 – September 30, 2017. Photos can be voted on by the public during the submission period and until September 30, 2017, for $1 per vote (minimum $5). Voters are prompted to make a donation (minimum $5 for 5 votes) at the time of voting. Entries will receive one vote for every $1 donated during the voting process. After you submit your entry, you have the opportunity to ask your friends and family members to donate-to-vote by sending them the URL for your entry or using the "Tell-A-Friend" form when you log in to your account on the Contest website. Keep in mind that you cannot combine votes from separate photos/entries. Upon donation, voters will be given the option of applying all of the votes to one image or storing the votes in an account. If voters choose to store votes, they can be accessed and voted with a User ID and password at any time during the contest voting period. Proceeds from entry fees, voting and calendars go to Volunteer Equine Advocates (VEA) for the rescue, housing and rehabilitation of horses, mules and donkeys seized by or under investigation by law enforcement and animal control agencies.


Donations made through the Pets to the Rescue 2018 Calendar Contest and online voting donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Photos may include only pets – no people – to be eligible entries. Each photo entry may only be submitted once and must be submitted by the owner of the pet. All photos must be non-explicit in nature. Failure to abide by these rules and the contest waiver will automatically disqualify an entry. Submitted photos will become the intellectual property of Volunteer Equine Advocates (VEA) and its Pets to the Rescue 2018 Calendar. Winners will be announced at VEA's 11/3/17 Gala; those not present at the Gala will be notified by electronic mail the week of 11/5/17.

Pet photos receiving the most votes from 1 – 13 will receive recognition in the 2018 calendar; first place on the cover of the calendar and 2^nd through 13^th placed inside the calendar, one per month.

• ONLY digital submissions will be accepted.
• May include one or more pets.
• Any image that includes people or content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent or obscene, as determined by Volunteer Equine Advocates (VEA), will be removed from the Photo Fundraiser.
• Subject to approval of calendar printing company for use as calendar art submission.
• Volunteer Equine Advocates' Pets to the Rescue 2018 Calendar reserves the right not to use any entry if release agreements are not signed and submitted no later than September 30, 2017.
