Pet's Story
Oliver who also goes by Ollie, is a 3yo rescue, Great Pyrenees/pit-bull mix from a kill-shelter in Arkansas. He was rescued by a group in Michigan who placed him in Foster care and he was put up for adoption. He had difficulty finding his furever home due to a medical history that included surviving distemper and Parvo virus as a young puppy but then having seizures. He was adopted by my family in August of 2020. We were not concerned about his medical history or fact he was on three times a day anti-seizure meds. He won us over by being the most friendly puppy who loves all people and animals, even Cats! We are happy to report he has been seizure free for several years and so far has no other neurologic issues from his infections.
Ollie also survived a viscious attack from another dog in the neighborhood requiring an emergency vet and a trip to the OR for treatment for a puncture wound to his snout.
As you can see, it has not at all affected his friendly and exuberant personality or his love of all other dogs and animals. Here he is as proud as can be about catching a mermaid on a recent trip to Vail, CO.
