Pet's Story
Poor Mr. Moose was found wandering around a Florida subdivision. We are not sure if he was dropped off intentionally or if he escaped from his home. Fortunately, somebody found him and dropped him off to a local animal shelter. The Dachshund Adoption Rescue and Education (DARE) agency of Florida found out about him and took over from there. Within a couple of days, Moose's picture and story were published and he was ready to be adopted. He had over 30 interested candidates, fortunately we were one of them! The competition was tight but due to our previous Dachshund experience, we were down-selected. After a long phone interview and then a virtual home inspection, we received the wonderful news that Moose would be ours!
Moose is a tri-colored Piebald Dachshund and is between 3-5 years old. He is quite the character... He LOVES to play ball, so much so that he even brings it with him to bed at night! It is the first thing he looks for wherever he goes! He loves to go for walks, golf cart rides, hunt for lizards, and EAT! He loves to snuggle and be by our side too!
