Rules

(UHCCF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides medical grants to help children gain access to health-related services not covered, or not fully covered, by their parents’ commercial health insurance plan. Families can receive up to $5,000 annually per child ($10,000 lifetime maximum per child), and do not need to have insurance through UnitedHealthcare to be eligible. UHCCF was founded in 1999. Since 2007, UHCCF has awarded more than 27,350 grants valued at $57.5M to children and their families across the United States. And we’re just getting started. We’re setting our sights on 2030, where we aim to award our 50,000th medical grant to families in need.

We encourage you to submit your favorite pet photos and ask your family and friends to vote on your photo! Not only will this increase your chances of winning, but all funds raised go towards supporting our mission.

Submission Rules

The entry donation is $20 per entry.

All photo entries must be in color and contain animals only. Your photo may contain more than one pet. 

Photos should be the highest resolution possible:

• 300 dpi is preferred and at a size larger than 3,000 pixels in width and height - This is in consideration for any printing needs
• If taking the photo on a phone, please select HDR mode
• We cannot accept photos that are heavily edited with filters
• Photos should not contain any stickers, writing, or added graphics

All photos must be submitted by the pet's owner. Copyrighted or professional photos must be accompanied by authorization from the photographer. Photos with copyrights must receive the express consent of the owner of the copyright for usage rights in the UHCCF Pic My Pet Photo Contest. If your entry was taken by a commercial studio, please send a signed copyright release from the photographer to sales@uhccf.org after you have entered. UHCCF reserves the right to request a replacement photo from winners in order to best represent the pet in terms of quality of the photo and to fit within the constraints of the design.

Entrant retains rights to image but by submitting to the UHCCF Pic My Pet Photo Contest, they are giving UHCCF non-exclusive and irrevocable royalty free license to use the photo in any and all marketing materials. By submitting a photo, each entrant represents that they hold the copyright to the photo or have obtained appropriate copyright release for UHCCF to use the photo, and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless UHCCF from any claims or liabilities arising from UHCCF’s use of the photo.

All entries must be submitted by persons of age of 18 or older. If photos include pets not owned by the person entering the photo, the entrant must receive written permission from the pet's owner for usage in the contest.

There will not be a mail in option for sending photos. It is required that all photos are submitted digitally.

All photo submissions will be displayed online. Once a photo is uploaded, it will appear in the online gallery on our contest website and will be open to voting by the general public. Votes are $1 each with a minimum donation of $5 (5 votes).

Once the Pic My Pet Photo Contest concludes and the winners are determined, UHCCF will confirm with the finalists' that their photos are of high enough quality for printing purposes and may ask the contestant to take a new photo of their pet.

The entry dates are from August 18, 2021 to September 8, 2021 and all submissions MUST be received no later than midnight on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.  Online voting will begin on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 8:00 AM CST and conclude on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 11:59 PM CST.
