Pet's Story
Darby came to us twice before she became part of our family. When she was a puppy, we heard a “tap-tap” on the door, and she was there with two of her siblings, probably checking out what kind of people we are. Three years later, we heard a “woof!” outside, and there was a sweet little beagle there, all “grown up” (3 years old) now. We thought perhaps she had wandered off from her home, but she stayed outside our house, day and night, seeing us off to work and welcoming us home. It turned out that she did not belong to someone else – she was adopting US! Now, on walks or in town somewhere, we have heard people saying, “that is SO adorable!” or “that is just the cutest dog I’ve ever seen!” even when they were walking dogs of their own. My wife had always been a “cat person,” but after Darby came into our lives, she has discovered how wonderful dogs are. Quite a blessing.
