Pet’s rescue story in 500 words or less
Harper lily was found on the streets in Atlanta, Georgia in early 2015. She led her rescuers with her mangled leg to a nearby sewer drain that had her 14 puppies inside. When she arrived at the local high-kill animal shelter, it was found out that she was heartworm postive. She and her puppies were then placed on the kill list due to the heartworm disease and the space they were taking up. It wasn't until the Tampa Bay Humane Society heard their story and came to their rescue. They amputated her unrepairable leg and treated her Heartworm disease. Several puppies did not survive, but the rest got adopted! Harper lily is a sweet loving girl who gets around just fine with her 3 leggies. She is brave, loving, affectionate, and loyal to her humans despite what she has gone through. She loves her rescue Corgi brother, playing ball and long walks. Harper is part foxhound, Labrador retriever, golden retriever, chow-chow, and the goodest girl you'll ever meet.
