Pet’s rescue story in 500 words or less
In 2018, Jackson arrived at the shelter after having escaped a dog fighting situation. He’s a big boy with a big bark. He had had acid thrown at him to try to make him a fighter but he is pure love. . He was fortunately too big to be a good bait dog.

Jackson spent 8 months in the shelter after his first adoption was a failure, causing him to be returned to the shelter. My husband and I separately identified Jackson as a possible new best friend to our rescue dog, Taco. Taco is high energy and she needed a bestie who could keep up with her, but would you d her being the boss lady.

In June of 2019, we brought Taco with us to meet Jackson for the first time. In less than 5 minutes, they were chasing each other around the yard at the shelter & wrestling like they’d known each other forever. They further bonded by sharing a rope toy (one of Taco’s favorites), not fighting over it but laying down while each gnawed on their own end of it.

Taco and Jackson are still best of friends. Bringing Jackson home completed our little pack. Jackson’s favorite thing is snuggling and giving big, sloppy kisses. He is full of love for everyone he meets. We are so lucky that Taco picked him to be her brother.
