Sassy was a hero, found at 2 wks old abandoned in a box, parvo survivor. She saved her human daddy’s lives fe when she started clawing at his chest and never leaving his side when he slept, after video taping his sleeping we found her jumping on his chest.

Dr said she restarted his heart, he had sleep apnea. They never slept apart again. She developed seizures from her weakened immune system and eventually osteosarcoma a very fast spreading cancer. 2lbs kept her out of a clinical trial that may have saved her life from the cancer.

It’s been nearly 5 years and we feel her loss every single day. Alexa starts our day with a photo memory of her and ends one each night with one as well. She may be gone, but our little gremlin, chicken nugget super sassy, sass-a-frass will never be forgotten.

My husband was always a big, bully breed lover, and a dog that fit in the palm of his hand stole his heart and saved his life. Just the mention of her and he tears up. I’ve entered this contest in honor of her, to memorialize her in a way that I could never do. I want her story known.

Dogs are our hero’s and instinctively protect us when we care for them. She knew who loved her as we saved her she saved him.
