Pet's Story or Bio
Hi folks! Uncle Gus here. Like my flannel shirt? It’s a hand-me-down from mom. I love it! Fits perfectly and brings out my inner human. All I need is a pack of Marlboro’s in my sleeve.
Mom is my fourth owner, due to no fault of my own she says. She tells me she will never leave me. I believe her.
But here’s the real kicker: the person who saved my life was the actress Bernadette Peters! She’s on the board of Barc, a no-kill shelter in Brooklyn. If Barc has a rare opening, she searches the city animal shelter-aka doggie death row-until she finds a prince of a pitbull to take back to Barc. Seven years ago, that was me!
Barc kept me for a year until Mom walked in one fine spring day. It was love at first sight. I could just pinch myself I’m so happy! Mom is a real sweetheart who equates food with love-she’s so smart! She trained me to be a therapy dog a few years ago and took me to hospitals to cheer people up. We stopped because I think I scared people. Mom said it’s their loss. I found the hospital food kinda bland.
At home I have my own indoor dog house, a second dog bed the size of a loveseat, and-get this!-special dog stairs to Mom’s bed! If she has a guy over who’s not really into her or me, I have a secret power to make him disappear. It starts with an f and ends with a t and smells pretty bad. Works like a charm!
