I am a Therapy Animal

Tell us a story about how pet therapy touched your life.
Patch is a retired racing greyhound who will be working alongside handler, Samantha Davis who is a LCSW at Jewish Family and Community Services. The duo is excited to offer one of the only animal assisted therapy programs at a nonprofit mental health setting in Northeast Florida.

Give us an example of a special interaction between your therapy animal and the person they were visiting.
Patch is just starting his second career as an animal assisted therapist. He is a retired racing Greyhound. He has volunteered in the past visiting seniors in assisted living and memory care. The pair will continue to volunteer in addition to work offering animal therapy. When visiting with seniors, he brought smiles to everyone and offered a friendly wag of the tail. The residents especially loved when he dressed up as a reindeer at Christmastime in addition to reminiscing about attending the dog track in the past.
