I was adopted or rescued!A little about me...VICK (Vickey) is our family dog adopted when she was just a tiny puppy. She loves being part of our family household and all of our kids /grandkids activities. Like most collies who are good with young people, she enjoys playing and protectively watches over them. Vicky is intelligent, loyal and devoted. When Vick was young we found her easy to train because she is a great listener and smart, so she learned and picked things up fast.
In our research for a collie breed, we learned that they are native to Scotland, primarily from the Highland regions. So we named her Vicky (short for Victoria) who according to the Kennel Association Queen Victoria was credited with saving Collies from obscurity (actually close to the time McCook was founded in the mid to late 1860’s). Apparently the Queen visited her Scotland estate and fell in love with the good looks and gentle temperament of the Collies she saw so she brought some back to England & thus began the first Collie breed fad.
