2024 Buffalo Zoo Photo Contest

Wonderful Wildlife of the Buffalo Zoo

The 2024 Buffalo Zoo Photo Contest sponsored by the Buffalo Zoo Women's Board is here!
We want to see the Zoo through your eyes in pictures and images, so select your best from 2024! The People's Choice category (any Buffalo Zoo animal from 2024) returns along with a second category: Zoomagination . The Zoomagination category is restricted to pictures taken of our 2024 Zoomagination lantern exhibits. Submissions for both categories are accepted from 12:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025–11:59:00 PM (Eastern Time) Friday, January 31, 2025. First, second, and third place prizes of $100, $75 and $50 respectively will be determined by online voting from 12:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Saturday, February 1, 2025–11:59:00 PM (Eastern Time) Friday, February 28, 2025. Get all your friends and family in on the fun by having them vote on your photos with proceeds supporting your Buffalo Zoo!

IN ADDITION: All submitted photos will go to a panel of 3 judges who will select a Best of Show winner and a prize of $100 will be awarded to that photo.

Rules

Submit your photos from 12:00:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 –11:59:59 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, January 31, 2025.

The contest entry fee is $5.00 per photo due at the time of submission.
Photos must be taken at the Buffalo Zoo in 2024.
The deadline for entry is 11:59:59 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, January 31, 2025.
Except for “BEST OF SHOW” all submissions will be voted on by the public. Winners will be determined by popular vote.
Participants may enter as many photos in each category as they wish.
Individuals appearing in a photo must give their consent to having their (or their minor children's) photo taken, and for the photo to be used for any Zoo-related purpose.
The Zoo is not responsible for any technical issues related to photo submission.
Zoo employees or Board members are not eligible to enter.

By submitting photos, all photo contest entries become the property of the Buffalo Zoo. The Buffalo Zoo is granted the right to use these photos for any Zoo-related purpose.

Submissions will be deemed ineligible for the following reasons:

Images taken prior to January 1, 2024.
Images taken at a location other than the Buffalo Zoo.
Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.)
Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, including but not limited to copyright.
Images that involve putting any individual or animal in danger.

The Buffalo Zoo shall determine entry eligibility in its sole and absolute discretion.
