Pet's Story or Bio
One year old Mooch was left by his previous people at the Huntington Beach Dog Beach in Huntington Beach, CA. Mooch was going crazy trying to find them and two ladies saw him and took him to the lifeguard station to report it. They walked the beach for 2 hours trying to find his people then returned him to the lifeguard station when they couldn’t find them. Evidently dumping dogs at the dog beach is pretty common. This is where I met Mooch. I would have taken him immediately but because he was turned over to the lifeguards and they are part of Fire and Rescue, they had to keep Mooch in the system, and have Animal Control pick him up and take him to a shelter for the 4 day stray hole requirement. Mooch was scared and I was holding him when they took him and I made a promise to him to bring him home with me and to never abandon him. Sadly I had to fly home to Tacoma that night. I found out which kill shelter they took him to and I called multiple times every day while he was on a 4 day stray hold. I flew back to SoCal on the 4th day in time for him to be put up for adoption, calling from SeaTac Airport just before my flight and before the shelter closed to make sure Mooch was ok and in place for adoption the next day. I arrived before they opened and waited in a long line only to be told they couldn’t find him. They finally located him awaiting vet services for a neuter when he was already neutered. I told them this was a mistake. I waited another hour while they confirmed this and then finally they brought him out to me! I adopted him and he came to live happily ever after in Tacoma with his other rescued siblings, Woody, Gretel, and Hank! Moocharoo loves to play with all of his toys and tease his siblings. He loves to take walks and chase squirrels and birds, and loves to snuggle. He is a highly valued member of our family and that promise I made to him years ago now will always be kept. He will never again be dumped or left alone. I will never forsake him. ♥️
