Pet's Story or BioOur house is a very, very, very fine house. With two cats in the yard …
Actually, our kitties stay indoors. But you get the picture 😉 This picture of Scooter is one of two orange tabby brothers we have at home as our little foster fail babies :)
After a heartwarming and fulfilling experience kitten fostering with @hartcambria for our family during Covid-19 quarantine in March 2020, we decided to keep the kittens on the one-year anniversary of the unexpected passing of our 8 year old boxer-pitty, Penny, from a very aggressive heart cancer.
When we got Scooter and his brother Sylvester, they were four-week-old "spicy purritos" (cutest saying everrr🌶) found outdoors sick and covered in fleas. But with love and care from my 7 and 5 year olds (plus a little help from mama) they soon blossomed into our furry BFFs who learned to purr, meow, eat solids, withstand the unpredictability of tiny humans, play, LOVE, take medicine, and bring furbaby happiness to our house and our hearts once again.
The adopt-a-versary of “Scootie-pa-tootie” and “Sylvester-the-bester” will be three years this March. And, still, every time I kiss their whisker-y wittle faces, it reminds me of nuzzling sweet Penny’s tickly boxer muzzle and with tears in our eyes we’re reminded of just how much we loved her, and that she is remembered always. And it’s with that same love, never replaced but somehow expanded, that we love these guys too.
And I think Penny would have liked them. She would have licked them to no end, for sure 😂, but she would have liked them just the same :)
Thank you for reading our story.
