I had just lost a 2-year old [beautiful] dog with no explanation. That week after, my sister-in-law told me about Ellie. Ellie was wandering the alley behind her father's house, and a neighbor took her in. I didn't promise, but I said I would meet her. She was kind, pensive, curious. I eventually said I will take her. I had everything she would need, after all, except a broken heart from loosing Layla. Ellie was a handful. Hungry (worms and fleas), crazy, and pregnant. I took care of all that (except the crazy part) and it was still a while to adjust, but she's awesome now, and I love it when she stares into my eyes. She's really become a good girl, and good distraction from the tragedy I experienced with Layla. She has become part of my heart! I had her DNA tested and she is actually mostly Husky, and less of a Doberman than she looks.
