Pet's Story or Bio
We adopted Abi from the Dallas SPCA mobile unit in July, 2018. She was 2 years old and was a court ordered removal from previous home. Skinny and shaved completely, due to flea scabs, matted hair and smelling of feces and urine, the SPCA groomer left her a little mohawk, so she didn't look quite so sad. She chose me - as I walked past her cage in the mobile unit, she put her paws up on the door. I talked to her then went to look at the other available pups. On my way out, she came to the door again and I just had to hold her. Well, that was all she wrote - she put her little paws around my neck, laid her head on my shoulder, and I knew I had found my girl. Turns out she's a shitzu-poodle mix! It's been 3 years since then, and, at 10 lb., she is feisty, funny and thinks she is a big guard dog! She runs FAST figure 8's in our back yard, and can jump straight up into my 6'3" husband's arms. She is a fearless and adventurous girl - our home and yard are her self-appointed patrol areas. While she rules the home front, she is also super chill when we go out and about. Her favorite trips are to Home Depot or Walgreens, where they all know her by name. She's truly a magical girl.
