Your Pet's Story or Bio
Talaia is a pure bred Great Pyrenees, the sassiest of her 11 puppy litter. She loves to use the furniture as parkour equipment at zoomie time. As with all GP’s, she will bark at anything that moves in order to alert us, her human sheep. Livestock guardian dogs love the outdoors and Talaia is no exception. Winter is her favorite season! She loves people and other dogs. She is untested with cats. But she has caught an opossum and 3 baby birds this year. Talaia takes her guarding job very seriously! “Talaia” means “lookout” in the Bosque language of the western Pyrenees Mountains in southern France.

Why I am thankful for my pet...
My husband, three kids, and I are thankful for Talaia because she came to us soon after our 13 yr old retriever/Great Pyrenees dog, Socks, passed away. In fact, Talaia was born the day before he passed! I was scrolling Facebook and saw that my friend had puppies and she offered for us to come see them when she found out about Socks. I was secretly already in love. It didn’t take more than 2 seconds in his arms that my husband agreed that we would get one from that litter. I am thankful that Talaia is high spirited for her breed and keeps my kids moving and entertained. Then she sleeps all evening next to me, and has been my comfort over this past year of grieving our other dog, who was our first family dog. We are grateful to have another one of God’s beautiful creatures to spoil. And we are thankful to be so protected from every squirrel, bunny, fox, leaf, spider, lightning bug, gust of wind, motorcycle, dog walker, stroller, biker, car, garbage man, and even the sun’s rays every single day! Talaia is the best 2nd dog our family could have been blessed with. We love her so much!
