Sandy is a SSLR dog, adopted in August of 2012. When SSLR saved her, a tornado had struck the area, destroying many homes. Sandy was found dazed and wondering around in circles alongside a highway. Her original owners were unable to be found. We had lost our yellow lab who was nearly 13, a month before we adopted Sandy. Sandy was exactly what we were looking for. She wasn't young, but she wasn't old either. She was extremely affectionate and gentle. Sandy still has thunderstorm anxiety, but she has been a wonderful dog for our family the last two years. She is loved by all who meet her, and we often call her "the sweetest girl in the world." We are very thankful to SSLR for taking her in; she brings so much joy to our lives.
