Willie has pemphigus which is a rare group of blistering autoimmune diseases that affect the skin and mucous membranes. This is usally terminal in bulldogs and it's not likely to have a cure, the best we hope for is managing the diseases. Willie has his days where he feels totally normal, playful with his 'red ball' and other days where he doesn't like getting out of bed. We take each day one at time for Willie, knowing there will be good and bad ones. Willie loves 'balls', his first day with us was right be before Halloween and his thought the pumpkins were all for him to chew on. We look forward to his first full year with us this Halloween again and making sure there are lots of pumpkins for him.
