Zee was surrendered to Skagit Humane in 2004. My husband and I had been on a waiting list with the SPDR for some time, wanting a doberman but being unwilling to buy from a breeder when so many are in need of homes. When this little darling came in to Skagit, they contacted Seattle who called me to say that if I went to the shelter directly, I could save him a trip to Seattle and back because we were up on the list! He was scared, but sweet. The look in his eyes very clearly said, "please take me home and be kind to me." Zee has been a very loyal family dog with a wonderfully visible intelligence. A few years later we were able to adopt another red dobbie, who had been a puppy mill mama. The two are best friends.
