When I decided I was ready to adopt, I told my husband that there was a dog-shaped hole in my heart and I needed to fill it. Using the petfinder app to find my forever friend, I discovered Tucker's profile and fell instantly in love. At roughly six weeks old, he and his litter mates had been found abandoned in a crate and were taken in by the spca. Making arrangements with the shelter to hold him for our travel time, my mother and I drove from Abbotsford BC, Canada all the way down to Kelseyville, California on the 16th of June, 2013. Adopting him is one of my favourite decisions in my life as he has done so much more than fill the dog-shaped hole in my heart. In the end I may have rescued him; but Tucker, in return, has saved me.
