I saw Piper and 2 other puppies with her owner walking around the block one day.Piper could not keep up with them and she was left behind. I went and got Piper and approached her owner telling her that I found Piper 1/2 a block away. She preceded to tell me a shocking story.That she knows Piper can't keep up anymore because she is old. She was 10 at the time. She told me that her husband kicks her and that she sleeps alone in the garage in a crate. She immediately asked me if I wanted her, I said YES! That was 6 years ago. I do End Of Life Care in private homes. Piper has been a Companion dog for my Elderly clients who are ill. She is So calm and loving! She lays in bed with them and sits in their laps, and sleeps in MY bed!
