When my son and I went to HSSV, we knew we were looking for a big dog. As we got out of the car and stepped on the sidewalk, a Saint, dragging a volunteer, came running at us and proceeded to lick my son's face, then mine. She was perfect. We politely looked at other dogs, then got Sally out to meet our dog. They adored each other. Sally had been at the shelter a month, but still had weight to put on. My co-workers at WESNiP called her Auschwitz dog because she was so thin. When we got her home, she liked the cats, chickens and ducks. We've had her for 4 years now and she is the best dog. No bad habits other than nabbing the occasional loaf of bread off the counter. Not once has she ever pulled on the leash, infact we rarely need one.
