Sweet Ponyo was brought to the shelter by a woman who had been fostering her at the request of her veterinarian. Ponyo's original owners brought her, at six months old, to the vet asking him to put her down, because she hadn't outgrown her puppy behaviors and they didn't want her anymore.
Ponyo was placed in emergency foster care, and two months later ended up at HSSV.
In September of 2009, we went to HSSV looking for a companion for our older pup, Roxy. The shelter volunteers suggested Ponyo, and it was love at first sight.
She is our son's number one buddy, and keeps us quite entertained with her jovial nature!
