I returned to the Bay Area after a year volunteering at a refugee camp in Greece and felt depressed about leaving my volunteer work and returning to my life "back home." I contacted Marin Cat Connection offering to foster any cat they were having difficulty placing. They brought me Daphne, who had been rescued from a cat colony in Richmond. She was skittish and distrustful. Two days later, I adopted her. We took it slow--one finger pets, then two, etc. Six years later, she is so affectionate, loving, & committed. I love her so much. She is my best friend and my most trusted confidante.
