During the first week of WFH in March 2020, I went to the SPCA looking for a sweet pup to add to my life. She had just arrived from a shelter in Fresno was in the SF SPCA annex. A volunteer searched their database for dogs under 50 lbs and read through her shining reviews from volunteers. She was so sweet and fluffy, I knew immediately I would be taking her home. I kept her shelter name and she goes by both Skylar and Sky, for short. Since then, she’s helped me make friends in the neighborhood, kept me active (my running and hiking buddy), and has helped me through some of life’s toughest moments.
