Tell us your story
Like many of us during the pandemic, my husband and I were looking for a distraction. Starting in March of 2020, we began fostering SPCA dogs in our small condo. We welcomed several charming dogs and one ridiculously cute puppy over the next several months. In November, I saw a large dog named Niklaus up for foster. He had untreated hypothyroidism and had lost most of his fur, had skin and eye infections, and was severely underweight. Regardless, we immediately fell in love. Despite not having been looking for a permanent dog, there was no way this gentleman was going back to the shelter. We shortened the name to Klaus and made his adoption final on Christmas Eve. Best decision we've ever made. Even the cat agrees!
