Having lost my pet the year prior , I wasn't looking for another pet quite yet. Then, as an SF SPCA Cat volunteer, I was visiting a room with 2 cats, or so I thought. After 15 minutes a third cat ventured out from his hiding place and plopped himself in my lap. He was 4 months old and he'd just been surrendered along with his 2 other roommates a few days prior and he seemed to really need a human friend.
So the decision was made for me. I brought him home and Alfie (shelter name was Cassius) promptly made himself at home. Shyness gone. After an hour he was sprawled out on the living room floor, as if he'd just laid claim to his kingdom. This Reindeer Hat was just my small way of humbling him for at least one moment, the little bugger. Love you Alfie!
