A few years ago before I came back to California from Maine, I was looking to adopt a medium size dog. At that time there was actually a shortage of dogs there. A few large dogs, a few small dogs. So I looked on Petfinder. I inquired about Belle who was at a high kill shelter in Virginia on a Thursday, and after they told me her 30 days was up the next day, Friday, I knew she was going to be my girl. I couldn't go get her at the time and had her transported to Portland, ME. I was having some difficult times myself and we ended up saving each other, and are forever best friends.
