Prior to the pandemic I had only been dog sitting, as my heart had still not healed from my previous dog's death. Once the pandemic started, all of my doggie clients were canceling, and I would cry everytime, as I knew I could survive w/o the love of a dog. One day, before the shelters closed we saw Della, she just sat perfectly still in between my mom and I and would not leave our side in the room. My husband said we needed to look at more dogs, but we knew she was ours and so did she. When she was put back in her cage and others walked by, she would bark at them as if to say "I already have my people back away." My husband was surprised how I did 180 after we adopted her. No more crying for me.
