Pet's Story
Picture it: March 2023 and I was perusing Petfinder yet again. “Just looking” had become my mantra as scrolling through dog photos had quickly become my weekend ritual. And then I saw her: Patty Cakes. A petite Boxer/Whippet mix with tiger like stripes, nacho chip ears, and a “Kiss Me” sticker on her cheek. Her undeniable cuteness (and those ears!) were what initially drew me in, but it was her story that kept me coming back in the days that followed: she had been rescued by an organization in TN from a shelter on the day she was to be euthanized. A tug at my hug told me she was my girl. Fast forward 16 months, a name change to Bailey, a cross country move, and many health complications and vet visits later and I can easily say that adopting her has enhanced my life in so many ways. She is joy and happiness personified. And I’m so lucky I’m her guardian. May everyone be so lucky to find their Bailey. 💕
