Pet's StoryMirk and Slatch joined my family two weeks before the start of the pandemic lock down. Slatch was a carefully sought out puppy. Mirk was a serendipity pup who ended up at my house three hours after I got home with Slatch. At six months Mirk suffered a traumatic dislocation of his hip. He ended up having two total hip replacements before he was ten months old and was on strict crate rest from the time he was six months until he was over a year old - tough times for any puppy, much less a Border Collie. It was also tough on Slatch, who had to stay calm when he was around his best buddy. Despite the challenges, Mirk is the single most joyous being on the planet. Slatch is slightly less exuberant but equally glad to join any adventure, especially if it involves traveling in our camper van. The two are inseparable. Together we’ve been to twenty states - and they’re only four!
