Pet's Story
Since dating, my husband always said that he didn't want a dog. However, after some emotional struggles, my husband opened up to the idea of getting a dog for emotional support. We saw Winston at the San Diego Humane Society while another couple interacted with him. We had gone to the Humane Society that day to meet another dog we had seen online. But when I saw Winston, I was smitten--it was love at first sight. I hoped and prayed the other couple wouldn't take him home. When our turn came to interact with a dog, we had to wait awhile for the other couple to make a decision. When they finally decided that they weren't taking Winston home, I turned to my husband and told him that Winston was ours and was coming home before we even interacted with him. Winston has filled our lives with so much love and joy-- my husband is now a true dog lover. People tell us that Winston is lucky that we rescued him, but in reality, he rescued us!
